Liquid polymers are used in elastomeric compounds to modify their processing and final characteristics. The material is considered as a polymeric plasticizer substitute or supplement conventional like paraffinic aromatic oils, hydrocarbon resins. Their plasticizing effect contribution the crosslinking sulfur cured SSBR mixtures studied. Aromatic oil, aliphatic resin different liquid polymers, varied type, molecular weight microstructure discussed. Different effects shown with corresponding curing torques Shore hardness values. free volume – measured by positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy - increases decreases according polymer's incorporation main polymer.
